books of hers that I wish could be made into movies
- rilla of ingleside (natch)
- the blue castle
- the “emily” trilogy (and I’d hope they’d get Ilse Burnley’s looks/character accurate. that was one of the things that bothered me about the 1998 Canadian series, which I saw on the THIS network a few years back. Ilse looked NOTHING like she’s described in the books, except that her hair was blonde.)
The Emily of New Moon tv series is an atrocity.
“[The girl] was as unlike the rest of the girls as Emily herself, but in a totally different style. … Her thick hair, cut short, fluffed out all around her head in a bushy wave that seemed to be of brilliant spun gold, and her glowing eyes were of a brown so light and translucent as to be almost amber. Her mouth was large, and she had a saucy, pronounced chin. Pretty she might not be called, but her face was so vivid and mobile that Emily could not drag her fascinated eyes from it.” - L.M. Montgomery, Emily Of New Moon
(also i totally forgot i had f.lux on for like 80% of the coloring part which is why she’s kind of pale, but i tried to fix it in irfanview)
